Standby List Information and FAQs!

What is a Standby List?

When you sign up for our standby list, you will let us know what days and times you are available and would like to have an extra session. You can also choose which music therapist you would like to see, or if you would like any available music therapist. If another family needs to cancel or reschedule their normally scheduled weekly session, and a time you have listed becomes available, we will give you a call and offer you a one-time session at the time you are available!

What is the process of getting an extra session?

First, fill out the form so we know your availability! If a session opens up, we will call you as soon as possible to see if you would like an extra session.

Can I sign up to see a music therapist that is not my normal music therapist?

Absolutely! We know that some of our participants have worked with several of our music therapists! You will be given the option to choose multiple music therapists you would like to be called for, or if you can choose only one.

What happens if two or more families want the same time slot?

If we have multiple families who want the same time slot, we will check who each family wants to see. If we have multiple families looking to add sessions on the same day, at the same time, and with the same music therapist, we will operate on a “first come, first served” basis. If the first family is unavailable or we do not hear back from them, then we will continue moving down the list. We will always do our best to accommodate as many people as we can!

Is this a weekly session?

Unfortunately, no. The standby list is to add an extra session when one is available based off of another family’s standby or reschedule. The spot you would be filling is someone else’s normal time and will not be available or guaranteed to be open every week (or even on a regular basis!).

Do I have to sign up?

Absolutely not! You only need to sign up if you would like to be contacted for additional sessions. There is no pressure if you do not have the availability for an additional session, if you are happy with once a week sessions, or if you would prefer the same schedule each week.
